Two public safety technology providers are getting closer together via the latest deal in that space.

CentralSquare has become a verified reseller for RapidSOS.

That means CentralSquare customers can buy the RapidSOS Premium offering, according to a statement.

Emergency dispatch centers that use CentralSquare and RapidSOS also can use GIS data for map overlays.

As the companies describe it, this deepening of the partnership between the two companies is designed to “break down barriers in emergency response communication, providing real-time situational awareness,” according to the statement.

“The power of CentralSquare Technologies and RapidSOS together enables telecommunicators to work more efficiently and access critical data seamlessly to advance emergency response,” said Karin Marquez, chief public safety brand officer at RapidSOS, in the statement. “In the light of ever-increasing 911 calls and staffing shortages, this offers emergency communication centers innovative solutions in technology to keep up with the demand.”

CentralSquare says its technology serves 3 out of 4 citizens in North America, while RapidSOS says its platform can link data from more than 540 million connected devices, apps and sensors.

In August, RapidSOS said it had partnered with another public safety tech vendor, Mark43, on a push to provide more precise location data to emergency responders.
